Sinulog 2011

Viva Pit Señor from Cebu!

Having lived in Cebu all my life and not being able to participate in any of the Sinulog festivities in the past years makes me feel really bad. You see, working in the medical field doesn't really allow me to insert holidays and other special occasions into my schedule. But this year, I finally took the opportunity to get some time off and celebrate Sinulog along with everyone.

I've always been fascinated with American Indian headpieces and thought they would make a good addition to my Sinulog outfit. So I spent the entire Saturday with my friend, Vanessa, working on our fab headdresses. We're so pleased they turned out fine (considering this is our first DIY project ever!) and that we finished them just in time for Sunday's event.

This is how Vanessa's headdress looks like. The feathers and black band definitely complement the colors of her outfit.

We woke up bright and early on Sunday morning and hit the streets.  I had a grand time seeing all the Cebuanos and tourists interacting, enjoying themselves and participating in all the activities.

Sharing to you guys the awesome Mardi Gras shots that my friend, Sherwin Ferolino, was able to capture. I have worked with him in photo shoots in the past and he is such a brilliant photographer. You may check out his Flickr Account for more beautiful pictures.

I really had a great time last weekend. Hope you guys can join us next year! :)

Forever 21 green striped top, Forever 21 light pink shorts, Follie shoes, Celine bag, accessories from bazaars, DIY headdress.
