Spring is finally here and I'm kicking off the season by wearing this gorgeous floral chiffon dress. Okay, so technically it was still Winter when I took these photos in England hence, the black coat but nevertheless I'm really excited to share this outfit with you.
There was a time in my teenage years when I was under a floral spell and would only buy anything that was flower-patterned. My wardrobe was full of this print in every design imaginable. To diversify my sartorial picks, I decided to try experimenting with other trends. Soon I discovered which ones looked best on me and since then my style evolved. I stopped buying girly, floral patterns and preferred a more polished, "grown-up" kind of look.
While shopping for clothes for my UK trip, I saw this pretty dress in Topshop. I wasn't really planning on buying it because I thought a plain LBD would have more use in my closet than a printed one. But after examining it again, I realized I needed it. I live in a tropical country but I currently do not own enough Spring/ Summer clothes. I'm glad I rekindled my love of all things floral and purchased this frock as it is the perfect item to slip into on hot summer days as well as during dinner dates in cold Britain (with tights, knee-high boots and a coat, of course.)
I wore this ensemble to our anniversary dinner. Both my husband and Father-in-Law liked this dress so it's safe to say it's definitely a keeper. I shall be on the look out for more breezy floral pieces like this.
Have you started shopping for Spring clothes already? Did you get any floral items, too? Do share. :)
