I'm the type of person who does not gravitate towards trends. I don't like jumping on the bandwagon and following what everybody's doing. That is why I usually feature on my blog classic outfits rather than a jumble of mismatched fads. When designers like Badgley Mischka, Jason Wu, Givenchy, and Thakoon showcased peplum looks on the runway last year, I became instantly fond of the trend. Putting an over skirt on dresses, skirts and tops is such a wonderful idea and the look flatters most figures.
I have a couple of peplum pieces in my wardrobe like this elegant white dress as well as this cream blouse. The mustard skirt I'm wearing on this post is also one of my favorites. It's proven to be such a versatile item and I've worn it previously here and here.
Because mustard is a bold color, I toned it down by pairing it with neutral garments. I've always relied on neutrals to make my outfit look extra chic that's why I stock my closet with grays, blacks and earthy tones. My white sheer blouse, cream leather jacket, military green Prada bag and black accessories all complement my skirt.
These pictures were taken the morning of our first wedding anniversary. My sweet husband surprised me with a lovely bouquet of flowers. :)
I love getting flowers so you can tell how delighted I was by his romantic gesture. For this special day, we gifted each other "paper" as it's the traditional first wedding anniversary gift. I gave Charles two books from his favorite author and he gave me fashion books.
Wishing you all a happy weekend! :)
