Summer to Fall Transitional Outfits

Fall is in the air and it's high time that we start transitioning our wardrobe to colder months. Using Summer staples in my closet, I have put together five outfits that are perfect for Fall. These are wonderful ideas if you're living in a cool environment but do not want to spend money on a new set of clothes. These ensembles will enable you to stretch out your wardrobe into a new season and help you look stylish during Fall/ Autumn. This post is also great for those traveling to Europe or the US and are in need of warm and cozy outfit inspirations. Lastly, if you're living in a tropical country like me, this post will guide you on how to incorporate Fall trends into your daily looks.

1. Colored Jeans
Leather jacket from Portobello Market, SM GTW colored jeans, Primark leopard heels

Denim jeans in bright, bold hues are key pieces during the Summer time and are still wearable even when temperatures start to drop. Play up your look by combining different textures such as leather and knit. And to add more character into your outfit, try wearing statement shoe designs such as leopard heels.

2. Crochet Dresses
ZARA crochet dress, Weekender military vest, New Look ankle boots

Crochet dresses are often worn as beach cover-ups during hot summer days. By layering a loose military vest, you can easily take this Spring/ Summer trend into the next season. Skip the summer sandals and slip your feet into a pair of comfortable ankle boots for a more casual look.

3. Peplum Tops
Primark peplum top and pencil skirt, Forever 21 heels

This outfit is perfect for dressier occasions like dinner dates and formal settings such as meetings. I am such a big fan of peplum tops as they give the wearer a more feminine shape and at the same time conceal any bulges. Match your favorite peplum blouse with a pencil skirt and cinch your waist using a skinny belt. Choose skirts in rich jewel tones such as emerald green, amethyst and other deep purple hues.

4. Printed Summer Dresses
Primark printed dress, Absolute blazer, Accessorize tights, Call It Spring heels

May it be a floral design, a tribal bodycon or an aztec frock, printed summer dresses are staples in every woman's closet. All you need is a jacket and some legwear to be able to wear short dresses this season. For my outfit, I used black tights and a blazer in the same shade to make my look more cohesive. Depending on the colors of your dress, you can opt for Autumnal hues such as wine-colored tights, gray opaque stockings or mustard-hued hosiery.

5. Skater Skirts
Uniqlo sweater, skirt from a bazaar, LK Bennett knee-high boots

Along with cropped tops, skater skirts were a huge hit last Summer. From pastel-colored hues, to floral printed designs, these full-circle skirts were paired with t-shirts, tank tops and breezy blouses. Skater skirts can also be worn during the Autumn season. For you to pull off this look, remember to stay away from neon colors and stick with solid and plain skirt designs. Pair it with a knit sweater and knee-high boots to complete your outfit. In the absence of tall boots, you can wear knee-high socks instead or perhaps a pair of ankle boots.

Which one's your favorite look? And how do you wear your favorite summer piece during the Fall/ Autumn season? :)
