Ni Hao from Beijing

Hi, loves! :) How have you guys been? I've missed you all! I apologize for the lack of posts and updates on my social media sites. My husband and I have been blessed with our first baby so I felt that I needed to re-prioritize my life and take things easy. We are thankful for this little miracle and are excited to begin this new chapter in our life.

Back in June, we flew to China to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time visiting the country and we had a really fab time exploring Beijing and Xi'an.

Our first stop was Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing's most famous shopping districts. This pedestrianized shopping area is a great place to visit as there are a number of high-street shops and designer brands located here.

 At the Wangfujing Snack Street

If you get a bit peckish while shopping, there are a variety of restaurants and food stalls to choose from at the Wangfujing Snack Street. Aside from the usual Chinese grub, you can try one of the many exotic food offerings. Fried scorpions, lamb kebabs and caramelized fruits sticks are popular choices.

Our second day in Beijing was jam-packed with visits to Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and The Great Wall.

For centuries, the Forbidden City was the residence of the imperial family and was off limits to the public, hence its name. The place is well worth the trip and the tour was a fascinating insight into the rich history of Ancient China.

Seeing The Great Wall has been on my bucket list for a long time and I'm so happy I was finally able to cross it off my list. It's such an amazing sight to behold and I feel truly lucky to have set foot on it.

A trip to Beijing would not be complete without having Peking Duck. As a fan of Chinese cuisine, I was in my element.

Our third day in the capital was spent shopping at Shin Kong Place and China World Mall. After picking up a little something from Hermès, we looked for souvenirs and gifts for our family.

Will be talking about our trip to Xi'an on my next post. Have a great weekend, everyone! :)
