In-Flight Beauty Essentials

I love traveling but the worst thing about flying is that your skin gets exposed to all kinds of dirt, recycled cabin air and an extremely drying climate, making you susceptible to developing skin issues such as dryness, sensitivity and break outs. It took quite a while to formulate the proper regimen that works for me but I'm pleased I finally figured out a way to manage these beauty problems. If you've got a trip booked, read on as I share four steps on how I take care of my skin mid-flight and which products I recommend to use.

Step 1: Cleanse
Pro Clean Soft Cleansing Tissue (P148) and Pro Clean Soft Lip & Eye Remover (P348)

Start your flight with a clean face. I never wear makeup when I travel so I just use a cleansing tissue to wipe my face. But if you have to put on cosmetics on the way to the airport, use a makeup remover to take off all the products then follow it up with a cleanser to thoroughly remove all traces of makeup.

Step 2: Hydrate
I'm Real Aloe and Tea Tree Mask Sheets (P78 each,) Magic Food Banana Sleeping Pack (P598,) Panda's Dream So Cool Eye Stick (P498) and Timeless Ferment Snail Lip Treatment Stick with SPF 13 (P448)

Staying hydrated when traveling is as vital as applying sunscreen when going to the beach. To make sure my face is moisturised throughout the flight, I first put on a sheet mask. My favourites are this Aloe mask for its moisturising properties and this Tea Tree variant as it helps soothe and calm the skin. Sheet masks are staples in my carry-on because of their multiple skin benefits plus they are more convenient to bring than big bottles of serums and essences.

Next, to seal in total hydration, I then apply a thick moisturiser. You can take any cream that you have but personally, I prefer sleeping packs because of their rich texture and I like how they make my skin look plump when I wake up.

Panda's Dream So Cool Eye Stick (P498) and Timeless Ferment Snail Lip Treatment Stick with SPF 13 (P448)

In lieu of an eye cream, I rely on this stick-type serum to keep my eye area moisturised and to help make me look more awake. It is very easy to apply and I don't have to worry about it getting on my hands or the serum spilling all over my bag.

Lastly, I protect my lips with a snail treatment balm,  which contains 1ppm Gold tea ferment snail filtrate for intense moisture.

Step 3: Refresh
Pocket Bunny Moist Mist (P478) and Timeless Ferment Snail Eye Mask (P148)

What's the best way for staying refreshed on a long haul flight? Spritzing yourself periodically with a face mist will keep you cool and also helps avoid tightness. Then I reach for an eye mask to depuff and hydrate my under eyes. This hydrogel mask is enriched with snail filtrate that nourishes and improves skin elasticity.

Step 4: Prep for landing
Clean Dew Aloe Foam Cleanser (P198) and Pure Eco Snail Moisture Gel (P548)

When I'm about an hour away from reaching my destination, I prepare for landing by washing my face using a gentle cleanser then I apply moisturiser. Multipurpose moisturisers like this snail gel come in handy because they can be used on the face, hands and body, saving you extra space in your luggage.

Delight Cotton Pact 01 Bright Clear (P398) and Facetone Creamy Tip Concealer W02 (P278)

Like I said, I don't really like to put on makeup when traveling but if I have somewhere to go to as soon as I land, I just stick to what’s necessary. I apply concealer, powder, mascara and lip tint to help me look the freshest.

Travel Container Set (P178)

I know, that's a lot of products to take but if you're going to be up in the air for 13 hours, might as well treat all that time as a little spa/ pamper session. And in compliance with TSA regulations, don't forget to store all your liquids (100ml below) in a clear bag.

I have already decanted all full-sized products into these travel containers in preparation for my flight to the US this week!
