Day 2 of our trip was spent driving around Sunset Boulevard, grabbing lunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel, browsing the shops along Rodeo Drive, and strolling around Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Being a huge fan of Old Hollywood, a visit to the Beverly Hills Hotel has been on my bucket list for the longest time. That's why as soon as we finalised our flights to the US, I made sure luncheon at the iconic "Pink Palace" was part of our itinerary.
The staff was very accommodating and seated us at one of the tables inside the Polo Lounge. With its impeccable service, delicious food and beautiful interiors, no wonder it's a regular haunt for locals and tourists alike. Not only is it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal, it's also an excellent spot for celebrity sighting. In the middle of our lunch, Kourtney and Kendall walked into the restaurant with friends and in true Keeping Up with the Kardashians' style, their arrival was signalled by a storm of paparazzi.
Knowing it was going to be a full day of sight-seeing and shopping, I dressed as comfortably as possible. I slipped into this 70's-inspired paisley maxi and accessorised minimally with a tan crossbody bag and matching sandals.
After lunch, we drove past the tall palm trees that line Beverly Hills and headed for Rodeo Drive. First order of business was to look for the elusive Chanel two-tone slingbacks (back story of my hunt for these shoes on this post.)
We also made a quick stop at Reformation on Melrose Avenue. After years of ogling at their website and stalking their Instagram account, I finally got to visit their LA store and peruse their latest collection.
Before calling it a day, we did the touristy bit and headed for Hollywood Boulevard and the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. We got there around 6PM and although the place was still very busy, we braved the crowds to check out all the names.
You can find the stars on both sides of the street. Don't forget to drop by the Dolby Theatre where the annual Oscars ceremony is held.
