Melrose Place

As I always do on every holiday, I made a list of places I wanted to see and things I wanted to do prior to departing for the US. I've ticked off quite a few already from my bucket list like seeing all my fave stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and spending a relaxing day, watching the world pass by at Venice Beach. Another thing I'm pleased to have accomplished was visiting The Apartment by The Line at Melrose Place.

I've been following them on social media since last year and became even more obsessed with the brand after receiving my first online purchase. I thought the service was excellent, plus points for their complimentary shipping and top notch packaging.

If you haven't heard of them yet, they're a lifestyle concept store, where you can find a curated selection of products (spanning the categories of fashion, home, beauty, and art) from established and emerging designers.

I love the idea behind the design of their store. Basically, they've modeled the shop as someone's house and all the merchandise is displayed as if they are the homeowner's belongings.

The Line really is the ultimate #ApartmentGoals. It has a living room decorated with vintage books, Oriental rugs, desert plants and one-of-a-kind furniture; a bath area with a freestanding bowl-shaped tub and marble-topped vanity counter fully stocked with Grown Alchemist, Rodin and Marvis amongst other body and fragrance offerings; and wardrobes chock-full of the latest Acne, Lemaire and Toteme. Fancy an accessory update? You can shop Proenza Schouler booties, classic Repetto ballet flats or browse through the many Mansur bags.

Comfort is key whilst traveling with a toddler so I wore one of the easiest outfits I packed with me on this trip, a black off-shoulder midi dress from ASOS. On days when I can't be bothered with heels but flip flops aren't an option either, I resort to flat mules as my go-to lazy shoe.

To keep my essentials, I brought along this canvass tote. A mainstay in my suitcase, this roomy bag holds everything from my wallet, makeup kit, camera to Lucy's Peppa Pig books. Extremely versatile and light-weight, I never travel without it.

Whilst there, I hoarded some of my beauty essentials and purchased back-up tubes of my staple Marvis mint toothpaste and Grown Alchemist's intensive hand cream.

Directly across the block from The Line is the LA flagship store of one of my favourite Australian brands, Zimmermann. Gorgeous interiors, dreamy clothes and an hour to play dress up― what more can a girl ask for?

If you're visiting the area, Marni, Isabel Marant, The Row, A.P.C., Equipment and lots of other designer labels are located on the same street as is my latest cafe obsession, Alfred Tea Room. My personal recommendation? Their signature iced Coconut Matcha latte FTW.
